Art in motion: Pookie in Space Hello, reading eyes. Come join the comfortable atmosphere at NYCH Gallery Friday, July 1st starting at 6 pm and wrapping up around 10 pm. This pop up art exhibit features Chicago artist, Pookie and his vintage taste in bikes he rides around the city. The bicycles breed character through the re-assembling of new and old parts. Each bicycle showcases Pookie's admiration for street art and classic graffiti. "I believe the bicycles bring a positive vibe to the city. When people see them they like to comment and always start conversations about bikes, city neighborhoods, art and even old memories. It's always been a hobby of mine but I would have to say that just as I wait for the bikes to evolve into a kinda rideable art form its evolved into a lifestyle for me..." - Gil Campos (@Pookie42: instagram) NYCH Gallery encourages the people of Chicago to ride their bike to this event Friday, July 1st. Artist, Pookie and his wife await to see all new and old characters. PS. I plan on playing my guitar outside on the Gallery stoops @ this event. Lookin' for a jam if anyone wants to bring an instrument. Doors open @ 6pm. Check out Configuration this Thursday, June 23rd at Serendipity Labs 4 - 7pm. This event brings together Chicago artists, including Liz Mares and members from NYCH Gallery. Harmony swims through, Liz Mares and her bold imagination.
Liz and I first met at Insight Design: a conference held for creatives in the region. I choked on water at this conference if that tells you about my nerves at the time. Her balanced and adventuresome character allows us to stay connected easily. Which further led me to introduce her to my boss artist, P. Scott at NYCH Gallery a few months ago. Liz radiates confidence, skin intelligence, and female empowerment. From stories about a gypsy caravan to traveling in Belgium, her life unravels through the moments. A truly one of a kind soul with a great taste in life -- Mares has taught me to challenge myself artistically, and pursue opportunities as they arise. She also loans me books for my noggin. The Catcher in the Rye was a good one. From one artist to another, I've been forever impacted by your existence. Thank you for being curious. Thank you for generating a world of opportunity and inspiration. Most good things come from the ground. Peaches, apple trees, and much more. Starting as a seed full of potential this seed has capable powers of mystery.
As the human brain transitions into another thought, a seed of curiosity sprouts into the wonderful garden of the imagination. A garden of curiosity roots to new ideas. New brain patterns and thought waves form. Thanks for reading. Thanks for being. Hey you.
Yes, you. The two blonde beach chicks I talked to on the sand. I forgot both your names, but I'm Sarah and I'm glad to have met both of you. I felt a good energy from you guys while being with my meditation club members. Appreciate you guys coming by to chat and being open to getting together sometime this Summer. Adventure calls. Funny how us people can meet anywhere at any given time. The little biz card I gave one of you is for us to connect, grow, and learn from each other. I work at an art gallery in Chicago and would love to have you guys come up to the city. Free entry and my boss loves all new characters to come join the fun under the roof of NYCH Gallery. I write for the Facebook page, so you can scope it out. Text me, email me, whatever floats your boat. I'm a man of my word when I say let's be friends. Here's to more blonde adventures . xoxo Sarah Opat Five people and myself decided to jam for until sunset in various locations across Indiana. Our last stop was the beach. Here's to more exploration with new characters.
Here's me learning.
Uploading music to such a foreign device just to share all the magnificence. Here's a jam from a day spent with a wonderful friend of mine and four other humans. Her and I spent the day on the square of a classy town. We brought bongos, and a rain stick to join the fellow instruments: a drawer. Yes, like a god damn drawer socks are placed Check it out for yourself on Sound Cloud. Writing allows for a release. A personal release of emotions, thoughts, you fucking name it into open air. Here, talkingstones serves as my purpose of release. Here, I remember the purpose of creation.
Explode ideas onto paper, ink onto canvas, words into open air. Create new stories and paradigms of thought. Keep exploring affluence. Gratitude allows for a shift in attitude. Any sass does not stand a chance against graditude. A simple, yet profound gesture: to feel thankful. A wise philosopher, Jiddu Krishnamurti came to life through communication and serendipity. His book Total Freedom embarks the quest of joining the conversation, rather than following. Join this understanding of how one's environment impacts life.
Another thank you to the strangers I have yet to meet. I laugh. For the sake of life, we will meet when circumstances allow. For now, keep doin' you. |
