Played guitar with daddio after a waffle breakfast. Luckily, my hands didn't get too pruney from the dishes. Learned new chords, and new beats to harmonize. Later I hopped in the beam mobile and ran up the 13 stairs to a friends apartment. He too, was doing dishes. I wandered around to discover the two CD's I left on the coffee table. The two CD"s I bought @ Reckless Records on Friday and haven't' listened to yet. Dude. Let me tell you, Klaus Layer blew us out of the water when I popped in the disc. We unrolled the yoga mats and listened to this new tune of truth. Harmony was found, as well as our breathing during the yoga. Sunday brought wind and sunshine through the windows of the apartment. Klaus brought wind and sunshine into the two souls in the room. Thank you, my dude Kalus for allowing my Northwest Indiana soul find (and buy) your creations for 99 cents. You are the tots, man. Tater tots that is. Enjoy, Sunday bums.

Wave hello to this wave of sound. Brought to you by soundcloud and the genius minds of My Morning Jacket. The V/O is the best part.
"Outta My System" A new home for an intrigued soul, NYCH reflects an inner niche. A cozy, comforting, and always fresh environment this gallery is home. Mopping the floors before strangers strut across I found three miscellaneous objects: a green tac, a black marble, and a tiny wooden object. For most, these tiny materialistic things are garbage. Good thing I am not most people.
These three quirky objects emitted an orb of value. They belonged together and front and center of NYCH's Friday night opening show. I kept them on a table where only a trained eye would find them hanging out, enjoying the Chicago energy within the room. Besides my hidden fun, NYCH exposes my 19 year old self to a world of fresh conversation and inspiration. "What a neat place to be." my consciousness states. Gratitude and allowing myself to keep learning and engaging with eclectic crowds teach a new tune than a typical college classroom. Thanks to a world of art, I shall keep feeling at home within this beautiful mysterious orbiting, shape shifting world. Whose beard is in your newsfeed you ask? Darrion Jackson. That's who. Everyone has their own niche. NYCH intern, Ashley Parkinson took her niche (experimental photography) on vacation to California. Capturing new angles and mellow sunsets this girl knows how to rock the boat. Time to spill the sunny deets. Parkinson, absorbed the timeless energy of the West Coast through her Chicago roots. “California spoke a new language.”, says Parkinson. “The art, the ocean, even the creative inspiration harmonized a fresh tune.” A photo capturing the pulse of fresh angles emitting off Jackson on a city overpass is featured below. Luckily, time doesn't stop to catch the oozing sunset on a Santa Monica Pier. Featured above, the sleeping sun. Happy to have Ashley back in Chicago, where her niche belongs at NYCH. Keep collaborating, Keep morphing. Keep wondering and questioning. Question what is possible, what can be done in this physical and translucent world.
Below stands a photo of an idea that came into reality and into your perception. An idea that once only existed inside the brain of a few humans. And wala! A few spoken words and human action created a piece of art. A piece of love, regardless of the product. Here's some love. Music by friends: https://soundcloud.com/user625748442/someday Oh how the sun brightens the day. Both literally and figuratively this orbiting ball of fire makes the lives claimed as living, alive. .
All I ask is for the sun within each person I meet to shine. Give my skin the vitamin D needed. The February sun has my August soul yearning for more bright light. More love, more normal levels of serotonin. This is what I like to call the half birthday effect my fellow readers. The half birthday signifies a time of laziness. A funk if you may. February is a time for hearts to give to other hearts, yatta, yatta, yatta. I will make it out alive, but my goly I am going to need a donut and a warm hug from my good friends. The funk is real. A new language to tap into. A strum of harmony to dive into. A classic tune. Keepers of the gloom. In the morning comes the light of the sun. In the morning comes the good news of the day such as the Department of Eagles. They deserve a listen.
