The future beholds a colorful mysterious harmonious wack show. For now, Lake Michigan glows with purples and pink abstract light. There's a special glittery flow in the ebb an glow of a body of water in Chicago. The sun falls beneath the horizon as the buildings become jewelry boxes, blinging and glowing in all sparkly ways hitting all three eyes of the soul.
The mind rewinds and relaxes in nature with open skies. There's a coolness in the air with a honey dew flow of pinks and golden heart glows. The mind plays with a bag of tricks in the moment. Find your mind. Lose your mind. New attitude, here comes flow. The air is smooth like butter. It's all golden within as people get their fresh Jedi mind from taking a deep breath in. And with an inhale, I can tell this world I have what it takes. Chicago in the spring comes alive to the tune of bliss. Sitting on the lake side at Foster Beach becomes a dream turning into night. Dusk into a moon rising effect. Checking out the horizon constantly changing into an abstract painting of the moment. A certain style I pursue with the motto to be happy. Letting the soul feel life as a metaphor. Drive for the spirit to use the mind as a utensil. A perfectionist being imperfectly perfect. Please don't be deceived by the cold world and the dirty puddles. Some women in the 90's live in the underground. Play like your coming to the house of the jazz of the funky business. The abstract is kicking. The heart is reaching into the urban sound of life.

Pastelist and remarkable color queen, Beth Lowell splashes the inner psyche with a divine flow on the New Jersey coastline. Lowell's artistic insight shines outside her being and into the external world of letting go. Lowell and I had the opportunity to chat on the phone about her creative process and where the mind goes when in the flow of creating. Her words reflected a Buddhist understanding of releasing worry and connecting with the oneness of nature.
The impressionistic style allows Lowell's mind to flow in a state of beginners mind, embracing impermanence. Lowell's work celebrates the energetic spirit within animals and the organic movement of nature. Her color scheme shines light on fluidity. Lowell's pastel works resemble delicate oil paintings. The genius blending of colors makes Lowell's work a poetic, visionary conversation. Lowell finds herself creating in nature and holding space for the inner artist to emerge as she lives in the moment. Her pastel work translates as a marvelous soundtrack to natures song within the universe. The hum of the universe is found within her landscape and animal pieces. The balance of timelessness and simplicity evolve within Lowell's art. One can feel the creative, organic passion in each piece. The language of creating allows Lowell to understand the connection with the philosophy of being one with nature. Lowell continues to conceptualize this divine connection to understand how the individual is a part of nature. Written by Sarah Opat Find more art by Beth Lowell on her website here. This journey is always evolving and transforming into new emotions, vibrations, and ideas. I feel grateful to let my art evolve as much as I do, spiritually and personally. I find answers in the questions my subconscious leaks out as I paint/create. There's divine moments when I paint abstract colorful images that release my soul's deepest questions - just to find the answer through painting. There's an odd, delightful, fruit punch flavor of each download that arises through painting and releasing emotion. (I find myself) receiving answers to my subconscious' questions EVERY TIME I PAINT. I feel my spirit come alive when I paint abstract at the flick of a wrist. Creating with a free flow reminds my soul to feel alive. I feel like the questions I didn't even know I have are answered through paining abstract, free flow color. Thankful my parents gave me paint and crayons as a little blonde poof of hair. I am eternally grateful to grow up in a household where coloring and making art was an everyday thing. I am thankful for my three older sisters to create by my side. There's so much to learn in this life and I feel I've been blessed to learn about art from the very start. Thank you friends, creatives, and fellow supporters. Creating with divine intention to be free keeps my soul alive - makes me remember the exact reason my soul is on this planet, to create. The web of the universe allows one to move and groove with an effortless flow of consciousness. The human experience lives for the sake of being and evolving. The Tibetan Book of the Dead talks about the human experience as being a "between voyager". I view this as a way of seeing life as a constant, ever changing act of movement, we travel. We are always experiencing life's moments from one train of though to the next, we travel, literally and figuratively, we move onward. The between state is the essence of being alive. Before we are born into this world and after we die, we are no longer human. We are the universe experiencing life itself. The simplicity of breathing becomes a blessing and magic all at once.
The between voyager is a metaphor for being alive in this human body. We are in this between state, the between is before we die and leave this body we are a between voyager until the next transition. Reading The Tibetan Book of the Dead has opened up my understanding of life as we know it and what is to come after the human experience is over. I decided to get the words, "entre voyaguer" - between voyager translated in French tattooed on my body for the sake of understanding I am always going to be moving onto new waters. We are meant to experience this life as a between voyager and I am deeply grateful to have this creative life to express thoughts, feelings, and release any fears into every day art. Painting on recycled material was epic! This concept was my last commission for a power couple in Chicago. I hand painted and scuffed up two jean jackets for this amazing, local artists supporting couple. The idea was based on the idea from Wren Glory.
I am open for conversation about any colorful ideas for your next panting or jacket art. The process is very hands on and for me, as an artist texture is fun to explore. We can discuss the idea of hand painting Jimi Hendrix, or David Bowie on the back of a Goodwill jacket. I love the idea of wearable art made from recycled material. I am open to painting on jean jackets, leather jackets, and pants. Let's make your closet wearable painted art! Feel free to email with any ideas for commissions or inquire pricing for hand painted jackets. [email protected] The artists I've had the pleasure to meet in Chicago have helped my soul bloom. I appreciate the deep understanding of needing to create. Creation is a revolution for freedom. This life is more than working the 9-5pm lifestyle within the rat race of the human race. So eventually the cards crumble and we need to find happiness within what we do. Listen to our purpose. Perhaps listening to reggae on a Friday morning is the start of an artists day. Perhaps this isn't the only way. But, hey listening to reggae feels good and certainly helps me feel what's real. Living an artist philosophy. Living in a bulls eye.
The slight twinge of reggae busting through the walls generates a feeling of euphoria. A feeling of belonging and understanding of the moment for the purity of life. Mortals need a break which is what art creates. This is a life where we can create more. Guitar solo. Insight leads the artist to divinity. I swear the times I have all questions running in my mind, I pick up the paint brush and the flow of color answers all my questions. Sometimes painting answers the questions I never even knew I was seeking. The subconscious is a wild fun party when painting abstract. I find myself in the color and the texture listening to the natural flow of my creative energy. I burn from the core, a wonderful creative fire sign degree. Creating is the way I live my life. It's not so much a sacrifice but it's just living in it, the artist life. I find the relationship artists have to one another is like family, it's all I know. It's a simple level of human degree. It's all I know, walking in my home studio, letting my emotions and unimaginable demons go. Allowing a beautiful full moon light into my night. Burning from my core, I won't ever forget the beauty of letting go. Loving a long lost soul made me realize how I need to love my art. I need to pour my love inside my paintings. Pour my soul's rainbow core into reality and create. My art is a reflection of my self love and letting the music play within my brain. xoxoxoxo Sarah Opat Artist from Hamburg, Germany, Tina Berendsohn, paints an intuitive flow of electric wisdom on canvas. Her abstract, figurative style melts perfectly into German expressionism. Fresh and risky, Berendsohn’s oil paintings revive the psyche with organic movement and pops of color. Her latest series demands attention. The abstract layering within Berendsohn’s expressionistic work is powered by divine intuition.
Berendsohn pours raw emotion and universal human struggles into a flow of vivid color. Her expressionistic style dances between spontaneity and confident brushstrokes. Berendsohn’s paintings leave a healing taste of freedom in the mouth of conformity. Her work is the revolution to freedom within abstract figurative art; embracing the spontaneity of letting go within the creative process. Berendsohn’s work challenges the idea of conformity and embraces listening intuitively. Her figurative, abstract, expressionistic style explores the essence of inner freedom. Berendsohn allows the movement of dance to inspire her work. Painting becomes a dance, a transferring of emotions and practicing the act of moving with the flow. The mis-en-scene meets an abstract, daydream full of exquisite color within Berendsohn’s paintings. Her creative process embraces the act of listening to intuition when creating. Berendsohn channels a seamless flow of serendipity through her color scheme. Her portraits bleed raw, expressionistic beauty. Berendsohn's work speaks a language based on listening to one’s intuition. The elegant movement of shape and color within her work releases emotion into dancing colors. Berendsohn’s oil paintings connect freedom to inner wisdom and intuition. She visually expresses her emotions, struggles, and reaps the benefits of letting the ebb and flow of the universe breathe life into her creations. Berendsohn grew up in Spain and lives in Hamburg, Germany. She stays emotionally charged through creating. The creative process for Berendsohn encapsulates an intimate, brave space of trusting spontaneity. Berendsohn vividly expresses authentic, colorful truths and blossoms with expressionistic, abstract beauty. - Sarah Opat, writer for Talking Stones In the midst of working on new collage mixed media pieces for an all female artist show and here's one finished gem. This piece is showing at Goldstar Bar in Chicago for the month of March.
Her name is Mercedes and she speaks five languages. Her third eye shines with rainbow glitter and flutters in the sight of a monarch butterfly. She tends to eat the bananas that melt with hot wax on her noggin. Not all beauties feel beautiful, she feels the pain from past lives flowing in and out of her being and natural essence. This image is from an Italian magazine from the Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago. When pouring the resin over this mixed media babe, the reverse side of the Italian magazine came through the other side. The words are in another language and backwards, super twisted around and complex. Available upon request. She's gold. Onto a new found glory only to meet at a quarter past midnight. Some call it morning. Sinking in the silence of the twilight. In between the silence lies the depths of seeing memories fade. Fading away into the silence of the twilight zone. This is the time for creation. This is the revolution of creativity. getting involved with feelings, emotions, and obscurations, love and honesty all on the canvas. Never disappearing, just revealing. Never knowing somebody just getting to know the souls eyes, or perhaps the I's our soul has lived. We begin to see what madness feels like in our head.
In between day dreams she finds her soul alone in the depths. In the making, an artist regenerates a path for success. A life as an artist is not as easy feat. This life as an artist is always in the making. Gently falling apart while a piano pounds a solid harmony. Gently walking onto the rooftop seeing only your own shadow and the devil on your back. This pleasure is you. Letting creativity begin to change the names and colors of the memories of life. She's ought to catch the next golden cloud. Making new memories and golden paintings. This life is meant for evolution. |
