Most get jobs mopping floors, cleaning tables. Mop floors to fly across the globe to dip sore feet in the waters of the Pacific -- Feel, wander, and absorb the sounds of the high blue skies bringing magic into life.
One of the first things learned when traveling is to bring the right eyes of appreciation to the moment. Developing more appreciation starts with sitting still. An accelerated life easily sifts through the experiences of the past and the future. A constant thinking mind. (Yikes.) By going no where means taking a few minutes, days out of a season, years out of a life to sit still. To sit still long enough to recall where true happiness lies. There's a difference between making a living vs making a life. An old idea, this sitting still business. This idea effects the liberated (all of us). Starting new in this moment of responses. Finally not judging the thought to be good or bad. Just sitting with the sensations within the body -- Arising and flowing beneath the skin. A mind bending trip starts with sitting still. Thinking, thinking thinking. It happens. Dude. I fucking know it happens. Thinking is what the brain is trained to do. So much of our life takes place in our heads. Internalization, speculation. bla bla bla. None of this is new. Modern life is demanding. Shakespeare never had 200 emails to face in a day. Demanding lives starts with demanding ourselves to sit still. More and more time saving devices have been created, when we feel we have no time. In this process of connecting to bullshit, we forget to tune into the coolest thing on planet Earth, OURSELVES. As a traveler (of the mind/dimensions), I believe it's the people who enable us to go places who inspire us to go no where. Just for this moment, "Ok Google, fuck off." An inner search engine is what I speak of here. Emotional intelligence fires up a consciousness rooting from meditation. Like many, we try really hard to observe our thoughts. Imagine thoughts as an online media page, always changing, passing, and forming new ideas. Easy, right? Yeah. It is since its something we all do. Imagine this thinking space as no longer your focal point. Imagine focusing in on how the body feels with you take this next slowwwww breath in. Try holding for five seconds. Try releasing the exhalation for five seconds. Try it again. The empty space is a luxury. As a writer, I try to include empty space so readers can complete the thoughts in these spaces. Room to breathe into blossoming ideas and perceptions. Anytime I want, (ANYTIME) I can get a second home by taking a breath in. I'd rather give up meat, sex or wine to not work on the daily college grind. Luckily, I'm human and can breathe in slowly and exhale into a new moment. This is not a mindset. This is sincerely being in tune with what is around me and not judging the ongoing thoughts. No distracted thoughts, just space around me. Going no where. A gravitational pull to connect with the breath humbles the heart. Filling the lungs of life in between the inhale and exhale. I end up where I am. Which is here. I am here. In the now I understand the space I take up is nothing more than a fucking miracle. Not having to look at the time. The day stretches before the eyes of the curious. The time I spend going no where is where I find myself appreciating the beauty of life. Allowing stillness to caress the chaotic world around us. To turn off devices, and sit still bring clarity to a consciousness. Opening up a space to feel the stillness. Thoughts come and go, just as this next breath. The trick is allowing the mind to do what it does, think, and let the thoughts pass. The more the mind recognizes "I am having a thought" the more you can bring it back to the breath. The trick is not get caught up in the spiraling story. Taking the time to sit still has allowed me to sleep better, feel clarity and step away to see the beautiful canvas of life. Nothing can be more exhilarating than paying attention to slowing down, and sitting still. Go no where.
